Rentals

The Coast Capital Playhouse seats 218 and is available for rental by performing arts, music, business or professional groups.

Sorry, no religious or political meetings, speeches, debates or similar.

In general, because of our full season, availability on evenings and weekends is limited.

It may be possible to make exceptions, depending on the nature of the performances. Weekday daytime business or professional presentations can usually be accommodated up to a week before productions, with some limitations. See our Calendar page or Current Season for production dates.

The non-professional performing arts rate is $600 for 4 hrs, with non-presentation extra time at $75 / hr.

The business / professional rate is $800 for 4 hrs, with non-presentation extra time at $100 / hr.

We will provide names of approved technicians & front-of-house people; one technician must be present whenever the renter is in the building, and one techie and one FOH whenever the building is open to the public.  The renter will agree terms and payment directly with them (suggested rate $12/hr).

Payment of 50% of booked time plus damage deposit of $500 at time of signing contract, then balance prior to first performance. Renter must have $2,000,000 liability insurance.

The concession will be provided by WRPC and will be licensed unless renter specifies otherwise. If the renter wishes to bring in additional food (other than chips, nuts, candy), there is no extra charge, provided the renter assumes responsibility for all serving, storage and clean-up. We have no kitchen or storage capability.  The renter can sell CDs, souvenirs etc, at no extra charge.

WRPC can provide web-based ticketing and box-office services. The renter can use this service (service fees apply) or make their own ticket printing and sales arrangements. If the WRPC system is used, assigned or general seating can be specified; if other ticketing is used, we recommend general seating.

The rental is for the facility only; renters must provide their own performance or presentation equipment, compatible with our installed systems.

Please also note that weekday, daytime renters and patrons may not use our parking lot at the rear of the building – all the spots are rented between 6 am & 6 pm.
We will put a message about the renter’s show on our reader board, and on the “News” page of this website, for 2 weeks prior to the presentation. The renter is responsible for other advertising and promotion, ticket sales, ushering, etc.
