Synopsis and character breakdown

Set in two separate apartments on opposite sides of Manhattan, this split set play takes place in the mid to late 70's.

Recently widowed and well known writer, George Schneider is being encouraged to start dating again by his younger brother, press agent Leo Schneider. Leo introduces George to soap opera actress Jennie Malone. Jennie's marriage to a football player has dissolved after six years. Both are uncertain of their readiness to start dating and developing a new romance when her breakup is so recent and he still has recurring memories of his deceased wife, Barbara. It's a bumpy trip on the road to Dreamland for these not-so-young lovers. Meanwhile Leo has a fling with Jennie's married, neurotic best friend Faye Medwick. This fast paced comedy loosely based on Neil Simon's own life, has four fantastic roles that require energy and timing. A lot of dialogue for all four to challenge your memorization skills.
